A day in the life of kaia....

kaia and her family had a wonderful day today. The parks here are amazing...surrounded by lavish landscaping with a plethora of fountains, bridges and waterfalls for the peeps to gaze upon. We are entranced with how many things there are here for little miss mae to do. Kaia was sitting upon a little bridge...and I was pleasantly excited about her exposure to so many different sorts of ethnicites...in children that is. Chinese, Thai,Australian,Arabic,British,German and so on. Pretty neat to watch their languages in conflict, but body language completely universal. Play is Play!
Later, Amira went for tennis..and marta the maid came with us, while amy and I dropped marta, jeff and kaia off at the beach, amy and I went for our RUn. We are training for a 7k. WHich is really not that long, but since my fat-ass(sorry)is so outta shape, there must be training. The Race is this Friday and if we are in Top20 we win 10,000 dollars. So, now is the time to pray people, and send out the good vibes...all that money I owe everyone for getting me water and snacks may finally be paid back, don't hold your breath though.
ya right, it will fun regardless....all for now!!

Taste of the Fountain

we love the fountains....

And then came the ocean...

Surely, the ocean is where little Miss seems most content these days....hence the meaning of her name, it all seems to make sense....A complete balance of what feels calming to her and where she can find sense of her surroundings. I just lay there and listen to the waves breathe in and out...still in the background little miss chuckling and splashing about while her daddy attempts a throw down with his new skinboard...oops where did the waves go..??

I am just waking up

Too spicy Mom

SO we went to this fabulous Indian Restaurant...the servers were incredibly accomodating of little miss kaia's needs. They brought her in a highchair at the Queen's end and took the tray off so she would slide right in. We were served warm chai tea..with little sugar cubes. kaia got a milk-shake since they had no juice that wasn't carbonated. Our meal arrived, and the food just kept coming. Chicken Marsala, saag-panner, panak-paneer CHili chicken..Ooh, chili chicken, well that means that it has chili's in it. Kaia was gettin' her grub on, as she is certainly our child-LOVES spices!! As we were enjoying our meal sopping up the juices with our garlic naan..I shot a glance at kaia and noticed that her eyes were ginormous with fear!! I look at her plate and notice that she had just eaten a whole CHILI....."Its spicy MOm"!..too spicy....so I looked over at Jeff and parental protection guard went sky-high and we pulled out sugar, milkshake, water, bread anything we could find to ease her pain. Our server noticed and seemed to understand what was going on immediately. He walked over with a bag of candy coated fennel seeds and dumped a bunch onto the table. She grabbed a handful and rammed them into her mouth hoping that these little colorful treats would be the ticket. She calmed down..and the burn was topped of with some sugar cubes. Although, she was given a large dosage of sugar to ease the pain, the whole pavlov thing,I think she still be staying away from long green things that are too spicy mom!

Ocean Virgin

Well we didn't actually intend on going butt Naked...first came the pants, then the shirt and then off with the diaper. She was delighted to have her way with the Ocean..the sand and out viewing the birds and Boats. All around us was something different, something new and many things to talk about and put down in her Mind. How we feel so lucky to be a part of such a fresh experience for our baby girl.

Edged SUnset

Looking at these two....scanning outwards chalking up my advice to myself and looking inward. What a beautiful sight out there feels like...warms me up like a fireplace on a cold winter night. I am at peace right now...for the idea of feeling whole has come to me, but I can't quite articulate why, I just know that right now feels "right" and there is nothing more that I can ask for.

AMira and kaia, on our way for some dune-bashin

Mind my way for another Tomorrow

Almost like a noise I hear...in the distance, but I try to listen again...and it's nothing. The sound of nothing is interesting because it is still something different.
The Dunes are blissful...the sand is of silk and the rolling, orangish reddish-ochre dunes are deliciously surreal. We were horrendously jet-lagged today, but we managed to tear ourselves away from the comfort of starch-pressed linens gently rubbing against our cheeks and pushed to get into the car as quickly as possible before we change our minds. We push and push to become as awake as possible so that tonight we will be able to sleep. Kaia went to bed at 1am, while now I listen to the shower running and my mind taps away at these keys close to 2am. I think its times to put my mind away for this day and embark on another tomorrow. We will hear that sound soon enough:)

So lovely to visit Papa..and MaryJo, I love their little town, well big town
We had quite the social time there, including great dining, salsa dancing and more dancing. Great coffee and conversations to boot, what a fun place this is.
Thanks you 2 for the Great and splendid visit, we had a great time and wished that it had lasted longer.
